Monday Monday....

Another week begins...

The weekend was fun. Started out with Gerhard getting off work early on Friday to come home & go with me and Tyler on a walk. We walked down the street to the Friday market and bought some gummy bees made with honey. Tyler likes the bee stand, he gets a free treat from the lady & squeals when he sees the bee stickers on her car & booth. The bakery booth still had pretzel rolls, so that was Gerhard's treat, although by the time we were finished with the walk, Tyler had eaten one of the four.

Saturday we went to Gabi & HD's house for coffee & cake. Their two sons Marc (19) & Tobi (15) were there as well. It was a fun time. I help them with some English translation for Tobi's upcoming stay in the US. He doesn't know yet which school or even which state he'll be assigned to, but he is quite excited and hoping for some place close to the ocean. Marc will go to Australia on a work program next year as well. The opportunities available for teens these days are awesome. Maybe the teens in Europe take advantage of opportunities to travel the world more so than the American teens, but being away the last 7,5 years, things may have changed.

Sunday we went to church and Sunday school. Got to play with Tyler for a few minutes after the service. He's growing up so fast and talking up a storm. After Sunday School, we had a yummy lunch with Daniel, Julia and Olaf. Sat around at the restaurant chatting and drinking cappuccino (decaf for me). We managed to make it home around 4:30pm, so it was a long day but enjoyable. Still, I was able to watch the season premiere of Lost that Claire taped for me. In January, we won some free TV channels for a month & during that time, I could watch season three of Lost in English! Needless to say, I was excited & looking forward to the season premiere. Thanks Claire! It's hard waiting so long to get the show here in Germany and then it's most always in German. With the writers strike, that wont make much difference. They were only able to write eight of the 16 shows for this season anyway.

The baby was quiet all weekend until we got home yesterday. I sat in the recliner & put my legs up to rest, but the baby had other plans. He was the most active ever. Guess it's because his muscles are scheduled to have started growing this past week. He's approximately 14 inches long, so maybe he's not liking how his little environment is closing in on him as he grows. He was kicking so hard, there was no need to place a hand on my belly to feel it, his kicks were quite visible. One area under my right ribs started hurting till he finally moved to another position. This morning he's been active as well. It's just so interesting watching the progress of this pregnancy. It's also strange and hard to describe the thought & feeling of having a human being inside me. Guess I should have never watched the movie Alien. Can't get that picture out of my head of that alien ripping out of the belly of that man. Nice image huh? Fortunately, the ultrasound shows that the baby is human...maybe I do watch a bit too much SI-FI. It's what Gerhard likes least about me...he always opts out of watching anything science fiction. That's the way it is...taking the good with the bad.
Tonight we visit the Pforzheim hospital to check out their birthing center and children's hospital. We've been looking forward to that. With only 15 weeks to go, we want to know where to go in case the baby decides to come early.
For the week, Gerhard's filling up his appointment calendar, so he'll be busy. I'm going to start organizing some things to start packing. A little each day will make the move much easier. The good thing is that only what we want to keep will be packed. All else will be either given away, sold, or trashed. A little early spring cleaning. Saturday we'll tackle the garage together, it is a mess. Next Saturday, the basement and attic are on the schedule. They however are much more organized than the garage so shouldn't be too difficult. Ahhh, the joys of moving! The difference this time, I have to mainly stand there pointing to what Gerhard has to lift & move. hee hee... I'm sure he can't wait...I'm so bossy!
