We're making progress on the packing & organizing projects. We managed to get most of our Saturday list completed. There was one hitch to the program however. There are large, heavy wooden stairs leading up into the attic. Granted, it's only about five or six steps, but since they jutted out into the guest room, I removed them years ago & put them into the attic. Ever since, we've just used a chair to jump up into the attic. Worked well enough...but not with a pregnant belly. So, Saturday found us trying to reattach the stairs to the wall. None of our screwdrivers or even the drill were able to fit in the small space where the screws needed to go. Gerhard's comment..."Perfect example of how things are easier to take apart than put together!". He'll admit that I'm the "handyman" in our home, but with my current state, I couldn't even solve our dilemma. Just before our nerves were shot & we were almost at each others throats, I remembered Roland has a small electric screwdriver. By this time, it was almost lunch time, so we gave him a call and bribed them with McDonalds if they would come help. Roland had to search for the screwdriver since Tyler likes to hide things. After a few minutes He and Tyler headed over. The screwdriver didn't have a charge, so we couldn't get the stairs on until it got recharged. Instead of waiting...we were getting hungry...Gerhard jumped into the attic and handed down all the boxes to Roland while Tyler & I explored all the neat things in our tool box. Kids can be fascinated with the simplest things. All in all, it didn't take the guys more than a few minutes and we were off to McDonalds!! Christie was in the middle of cleaning at home, so Roland took her some food home afterwards.
On the way home Tyler asked if he could stay at hour house for a while, so Roland took a risk (after checking with Christie) that Tyler could make it through the day without a nap. He got to stay & we made coffee. We have a milk foam maker, so Tyler's cup is warm milk with a lot of foam. He still thinks it's coffee. Naturally, he finishes his foam before I finish mine & then proceeds to remove all the foam off my coffee for himself. He is a riot!
Later in the afternoon, we took Tyler to pick up Roland & go to the grocery store since we all had to get some stuff. Remember, the stores are closed here on Sunday's. That's about when Tyler's lack of nap kicked in. Cute kids can still get fussy...hey, I get fussy from time to time and I'm cute too. hee hee... We heard later that he went to bed early, so that's good.
We managed to finish up a few things here at home in the early evening & then I was starved again, but this time I cooked (salad with lots of veggie, some beef & cheese). A few hours later, I wound up cooking again, this time a steak & egg sandwich with mozzarella (protein city!)... I was just starved, so couldn't help it.
The baby was active from time to time over the weekend. Last night he tried to keep me awake. During the night, he apparently realized he was living only on the right side of his little house. For the first time, he started banging on the left side. Guess he wanted to balance out the bruises he's giving me on my insides. Naturally, he's sleeping now & I have to be awake!
Next Monday we'll have another doctor visit, so we are looking forward to see how much he has grown these past weeks.
Oh yeah, we've got our new phone number, so I'll send out an e-mail in the next days to everyone with all our new information.

Sounds like a fun day! I hope the baby gets his days and nights straightned out before he arrives - for your sake. :o)
