Today I had the first of my two dental cleanings of 2008. Actually, I was supposed to go in November, but with all the nauseousness, it didn't seem like such a good idea. I've been nervous the past couple of days about it. Not about the dental cleaning, that has never made me nervous...but about thinking of how gross it would be to throw up right in the middle of the cleaning. How yuck would that be?! The past couple of days I've thrown up a bit, probably more from mental issues of not wanting to throw up any more!
Fortunately all went as well as usual at the cleaning. Gerhard works close with our dentist due to his selling so much dental insurance through our dentist recommendations. So, they were all excited about the pregnancy....and the eventual new patient...hee hee. They've known that for the last years I've not been able to get my teeth X-rayed so as not to come in contact with radiation unnecessarily. Today I started a special treatment for during the pregnancy. Since pregnancy takes a toll on teeth & gums, this treatment seems like a good thing. Gerhard has to take the treatment too even. We have to go back ever two weeks to have a form with gel in it put on our teeth for three minutes. It's free and protects my gums from allowing harmful bacteria to transfer to the baby.
Good thing we don't have a fear of dentists!
