Yesterday we had another check-up. The baby once again didn't like being hooked up to that cpt machine, so we didn't get a good reading. We have to go back on Monday to try again. The Dr. did a doppler to check that the flow through the cord was as it should be and it is. He didn't check the weight of the baby, but did measure his head. It's 36cm round. The Dr. gave us the impression that is a really big head, but we've since heard from others who's baby's head were larger at birth, so we wont worry. The baby is still in a head down position, as he's been most of the pregnancy. I'd for sure be dizzy by now. He hasn't dropped into birthing position however, so it doesn't look he'll be arriving in the next little bit. We're just waiting...
We did purchase a baby stroller this week. Oh my goodness...those things can really run up in price. We got a good one for a decent price, there was no way I was going to spend a small fortune. Some of them cost more than a whole room of baby furniture. Totally crazy! We also picked out a few outfits for the baby. At the hospital, he'll wear the clothes provided. Figured we'd better get started buying him some clothes or he'd have to come home from the hospital naked. hee hee. We also picked out a really cool baby phone. When the baby cries, we'll be able to talk to the baby through it & even play some lullaby music. It shows the room temperature and can shine star lights on the wall. It also reaches 300 meters and guarantees no disturbances from cell phones or other things.
Thursday night we had a thunderstorm. Gerhard was at an appointment 15 min. from the house. For an hour I had contractions around 10 min. apart, but they didn't get stronger with each one, so I figured it wouldn't be time. I sat in my recliner & rested. I'm not wanting to go into labor during a storm since that's when the hospitals are full of pregnant women. The storms trigger labor. I want my own room and that probably wouldn't happen during a storm.
Today we'll be busy painting the kitchen and putting down new flooring. The kitchen arrives on Tuesday!!! YIPPEE!!! I hope the colors we've chosen work well together. It was a tough decision. While the kitchen company is here, we'll spend the day painting some other areas & perhaps wall papering the baby's room and laying some baseboards. I also want to reinstall our TV surround sound. I've been putting it off since I haven't been able to decide exactly how I want the speakers to be. Either attached to the wall, put on stands, or something else. We miss the surround sound, though our flat screen does have a really good sound. Guess that's why it's not been too difficult to put off that project. Procrastination is a bad habit!
Well, we are off to start our day of projects! (Anybody in the area reading this today...feel free to come on over...we'll be grilling for lunch!)
