Thanksgiving with Russ, Jen & Cassie

Sunday, we drove up to visit Russ, Jen & Cassie for an early Thanksgiving celebration. They live two hours from here in Wiesbaden, just past Frankfurt. They used to be stationed with the US military in Stuttgart. We met them at IBC. Russ is from Raleigh, NC, so that got Gerhard's attention & they became close buddies.
Before the meal, we joined them for church, another IBC. The meal was a delicious American Thanksgiving spread! Plus, Jen made tater-tots...I've been craving them the past couple of weeks. They were soooo yummy!!! She even sent me home with a bag & some Hellmann's mayo (closest thing to Duke's on their base)!
Needless to say, we were stuffed!
Cassie is so cute. She'll be two on Dec. 24th.
Russ actually has to leave this Thursday for a year long deployment in Afghanistan. He'll get a couple of weeks leave in the middle & should be back home mid Dec. 2008. Jen & Cassie will spend a lot of time in the US with family and friends. They for sure need much prayer over this upcoming year. Jen will have much to organize in Germany and possibly pack up their home for storage until their next assignment in 2009. She certainly has her hands full.
They are a sweet family & we are blessed to have gotten the chance to know them.

Russ, Jen & Cassie, you will be in our prayers. Hope you start a blog soon so all your friends and family around the world can keep up with your adventures!
