Weather Update!

Monday's snow flurries, were just that...flurries not amounting to anything.
Tuesday was cloudy.

Wednesday, yesterday, I was out running errands. After leaving Leo Center from the dark parking garage, I had to put on my shades due to the bright sunshine. On my drive home, there are farm lands on both sides of the street between the towns. Suddenly it became very dark and something caught my eye in the fields on the right side. There was a huge, extremely spooking looking wall of white fog headed right at me. In a matter of seconds, the "fog" was upon my car. Turns out it was wild flying snow & ice. It froze up on my windshield wipers in a matter of minutes making it very difficult to see. It was like a blizzard with the snow/ice mixture blowing in hard from right to left instead of falling lightly from the sky. I made it home safe & sound, grabbed my camera & took the below shot from our living room window. It did accumulate some, but within the hour, the sun broke through, pushing the snow clouds on their way.

This morning I woke up to the sound of schwoossh, schwoossh as the cars drove by, so I figured it must have rained over night making the streets wet. This is the site that greeted me when I opened the shades.

remember my little black car - below?

It's 9:10am here now & still coming down pretty good.
I guess this means Spring will at least be put off for yet another day in our little corner of the world. It's not just the flowers & trees going into shock, the animals are suffering even more. Since the Winter was so mild, many didn't hibernate, so they ate up all their food storage very quickly. Unfortunately, it was just cold enough for the ground not to produce food for them, so they started starving & lost their Winter fat. This past week produced some buds, so if the snow doesn't continue, maybe the animals will have a fighting chance.
Not that I wanted to send you into Thursday depressed about the struggles of the German wildlife!
Chin up...only one more day till FRIDAY! Well, guess that doesn't mean much for those of you who have to work on Saturday! Sorry 'bout that.

Snow! So cool! But, I'm sure you're ready for spring. I know I am. Things are blooming here. The trees in my front yard are completely white with flowers.
