EIGHT!

Monday, July 28th was our EIGHTH wedding anniversary!!

Some times it feels like there's no way eight years have gone by and other times it feels like much longer. We spent the day mostly at home. We did go out to lunch. Teodor actually behaved very well at the restaurant. It was our first time at a real (meaning non-fast food) restaurant with him. After lunch, we went for ice cream in Bad Liebenzell. The town also has a beautiful park to walk through, which we did. No photos of that day, but we'll go back with the camera soon. We're already planning to picnic there.

Another EIGHT... Teo turned eight weeks old on Tuesday. He's growing and learning every day. His smiles are more frequent and very adorable. We are still amazed by him and enjoy being parents. His bouts of colic have past, so we were certain we'd enjoy that peace for at least a couple of months till the teething starts. Well, looks like teething started this week. He drools at times like a faucet. He'll chew on the passy, on his bottle, on the teething ring and especially his hands. He'll stick half a fist in his mouth and just let loose gnawing on it. He doesn't really scream with it, but he gets real fussy. I read that symptoms and signs can go on for a couple of months before a tooth tries to break through. Well, we can't stop the clock. He cant stay a little baby forever...though he never was really little. He's been sleeping longer at night. Last night he actually slept seven hours straight...we did too! That was great!!

Today, August 1st, brought us some cool weather with rain. This week has been in the 90's. Oh and let me just whine again..... NO AC!!! It's so nice in the car though. We are fortunate to live at a higher elevation and usually get cool breezes. Unfortunately, there were a couple of days this week where everything would suddenly stop. No wind for hours. During that time, it was still hot in the house over night with the windows open. Normally we are able to cool the house down at night and then shut the curtains during the day to block out some of the suns heat. Sometimes that just doesn't work.

The schools here let out for Summer break today, so the kids are hoping for warm temps. I'm naturally hoping for more comfortable Spring like temps. We'll just have to wait it out and see.

Now I'll try to get some photos of Teo from this week uploaded.
