Yesterday, Gerhard received a phone call in the office from one of the insurance companies he deals with. To show their appreciation for his business, they invited him & and his wife (and that would be me) to a party in Hannover, expenses paid! They suggested we take the train up, which takes over 4 hours one way, but we found a flight that was much cheaper which takes only 1hr 10min. They save money, and we save time! You can go on Google.com to find a map of Germany to see the distance from Stuttgart to Hannover if you want. I've not yet been to Hannover, so I'm looking forward to exploring a new city & getting some photos. If there is time, we might drive up to Hamburg (80km North). The company booked us a room at the hotel today, www.hotel-viva-creativo.de . The site is in German & partly in English. The theme of the party is James Bond. We'll have to wait & see how that turns out. We fly up to Hannover early Friday morning on the 16th & return Sunday evening the 18th.
I've got to go on the web to see what kind of stores are up that way. The North has lots of scrapbookers, so maybe we'll be able to find a shop to check out...I'm sure Gerhard would just love that. They might even have an American restaurant or two as well (not counting McDonald's, BK & KFC - we have those here - but maybe a Chili's or Applebee's)!!
