It's been drizzling since Saturday, so the snow is melting away. Large chunks of snow have been falling "avalanche style" from the roof, waking us up during the night. It's supposed to get up in the low 40's° F, so it wont be long before all traces of snow are gone. It was nice while it lasted. There was so much of it and without the ice that often follows.
We pick up my car from the shop today. Turns out it was not the coolant, but the ac compressor. Apparently, it just fell apart, the snow not being the cause. The repair quote is 700 € ($900), so we are not going to get it fixed. Hopefully the Summer wont be too hot this year!
Yesterday, we went to see The Pursuit of Happyness starring Will Smith & his son. It is based on a true story. We liked it & give it two thumbs UP!
Today is typical Monday stuff...I'm home doing laundry, cleaning, etc and Gerhard's working and he has an appointment tonight so he'll get home late. Monday night is my TV night - no, not Monday Night Football, CSI: NY, Medical Detectives and Crossing Jordan! Yippee!! Still my favorite shows even though they are all in German - I've never even heard the original voices, but better German than nothing & they actually help with my German vocabulary. CSI: Las Vegas & Bones come on Thursday night, but since that's the night of our Home Group meeting (from church), I only watch those when the weather is bad & we have to stay home. The other shows that interest us are the cooking, home decorating/improvement or the reality shows about people who have left Germany to start a new life in another country. Some people make it and some have to pack up & move back. Our favorite, is about a family who moved to Gainsville, TX after the wife won a green card on the Internet. They tried to live "Texas style" here, with big pick-up trucks & cowboy hats (not that everyone from Texas drives pick-ups & wears cowboy hats...), but it is nothing like Texas here & they are making a living there. Next time we are in Texas, we want to look them up. They are building a B&B on a lake, however, this Winter in Texas is so cold, they wonder if they should have moved to Florida!
