After six months, we finally had the moving team over for a Thank You meal this past Saturday. It was so much. There were eleven people here, the largest group we've entertained in quite some time. We've always enjoyed having friends over & plan to make sure we do so more often. There is no point in letting ourselves get so busy we can't fellowship with friends in our home.
For lunch we had beef goulash with spätzle or rice and salad. For dessert we had apple pie (using apples from our yard). Heidi actually brought some apple jelly she had made from our first ripe apple tree. That is some yummy stuff...I have got to get her recipe.
Once everyone had their fill of apple pie & coffee, we headed outside to pick apples. I told everyone to bring baskets to take home apples. With so many apples, there is no way Gerhard & I can eat them all. Many have already made their way to the neighbors horse and some other horses. I'm planning to make some apple turnovers soon as well.
It was a fun day! We look forward to our next party...hopefully it wont take six months till the next one.
