As I've mentioned before, I've been helping Gerhard in the office. The results are allowing him to be much more productive & efficient. At first, he was in shock saying "Oh My! so many changes in such a short amount of time! It's gonna take a while to get used to it." This week, he's made a 180° turn saying, "It's so much easier & faster to find the material I'm looking for now!". The first changes have been made with pleasant results, so the upcoming (and rather time consuming) data-base project should be completed rather painlessly.
It is actually quite fun to help out in Gerhard's office. There have even been days where he's had to drag me out of there after 10 or 12 hours. When I'm in the middle of a project, it's just hard for me to stop. Like reading a book or watching a movie.
Starting July 1st, I'm going to be officially employed by Gerhard. I'll get a paycheck & less expensive health insurance as well as retirement benefits. All for less than what we currently pay for my health insurance. Once my organization projects are finished, my job will be to maintain organization, bookkeeping, make spreadsheets & power point presentations for him when needed and answer the phone when Gerhard is on the other line. Some clients get a kick out of talking to the American, with one even calling me Frau Koch Jr. One new client tried to guess how we met, but was way off mark. He guessed me to be a 20 yr. old American that met Gerhard a 50+ yr. old German on the Internet. Like I said.... WAAAAAY off the mark!
I've got this morning off to catch up on some duties around the house. The weather has turned to Fall this week, so I've been able to wash & dry the piles of sheets and towels I let pile up during the heat wave. Yesterday was down right chilly. It didn't feel like it got over 60°F, but I didn't check. Today is not supposed to make it to 70°F, with the weekend hovering around 70°. It's been cloudy, rainy & windy too. Sounds like hot chocolate weather huh??? but at the end of June??? Crazy, but, this is Germany...at least it didn't snow in May this year!
This weekend, we'll be going on the Christus Gemeinde church retreat with 80 others to Burg Wernfels where it is also supposed to be rainy & chilly. This past Sunday we visited IBC again, this time also visiting our old Sunday School Class. Tyler, Christie & Roland also were in 1st service, where Tyler was so good playing with another little boy, Cassey for the 90 min. After church Tyler tried to get Gerhard to go under a small weeping willow type tree, but Gerhard didn't think he would fit, so Tyler grabbed my hand and pulled me under the branches with him. He really likes that tree, so we had to turn it into a game to get him to come out to go home for lunch. After Sunday School, Gerhard & I joined the German pastor & his wife for lunch and had a very nice time as well as meal. For the afternoon, Gerhard & I planned on attending the 5pm showing of Shrek 3 showing in the same town, but it turned out the time was 5:45pm. We sat on a bench to decide if we should wait for the 2+ hours & wound up chit-chatting the time away since the weather was so nice. We went on to the movie & while waiting in the theater, Daniel & Julia (our IBC Sunday School teacher & wife) showed up too, so we all sat together. I think this is actually my favorite Shrek from them all. The jokes are not crude with double meanings as in the previous films, which the critics are complaining about...typical. Another typical, we'll have to buy the DVD for sure, Gerhard dozed off in the theater. It is his habit to fall asleep during movies. He has to watch the same film a dozen times practically in order to watch the complete film. That of course does not count films such as Pet Detective, Joe Dirt or Buddy the Elf!!!
Hope you all have a nice weekend!

Cool! I'm glad you and Gerhard working together is so much fun. It's also a great way to spend more time with each other. Sounds like your day at and after church was perfect too.
