Countdown: 8 weeks!

Eight weeks to go till the due date!

We had another check-up yesterday morning. We're going every two weeks now. Everything was normal. The most shocking was that in the past two weeks, I've gained almost four pounds. The previous seven months of weight gain have been pretty steady of one or two pounds per month. Suddenly, I'm exploding! I'll get a photo taken some time this week. I can not imagine getting any bigger over these next weeks, but I'm sure I will. The weeks will pass quick enough though. He's still pretty active, beating up my insides. Maybe we should name him Rocky. nope!

We've still got a lot of projects in the new house to accomplish, but we're taking it one day at a time. Once Gerhard's office moves in, it will be easier to get things done. There is so much that I normally would be able to do by myself, but now I have to wait for help. Tomorrow someone from the kitchen company comes to take exact measurements and discuss how we want to build the kitchen. After the order is made, it will take another six to eight weeks for the installation. I've accepted that it probably wont be built till after the baby is born. At least we have the little kitchen upstairs. When we had to order our first kitchen after we married, we had to wait an extended period due to the German Summer vacation. For much of that time, we only had a little toaster oven, hot water cooker and coffee pot to make our meals. Eventually, the company did bring us a little dorm size kitchen (with two burners, a sink and a fridge). Now, we are better equipt, so I wont complain (much). hee hee. One major request I made to the kitchen company is to put in the largest oven that will fit. The German ovens are so tiny. In the oven upstairs, a Thanksgiving turkey would not even begin to fit. Still, it will be good to have two ovens in the house on those days when I have baking cravings. My deep dish apple pie takes an hour or more, so soon I'll be able to bake two pies at the same time. Can't wait for the apples, pears and cherry trees & berry bushes in our yard start producing fruit. I'll for sure have to learn to jar them eventually. Till then, I've already warned our Sunday School class we'll be bringing fruit and berries to share, as well as pies. Just thinking about the yummy pies makes my mouth water.

Yesterday, Roland and Tyler came over for lunch (chicken nuggets & fries). Afterwards, Tyler hung out here while Roland ran some errands. He tried to get the baby to wake up so he could see him kick me. It cracks him up. He brings little gifts for the baby from time to time. Yesterday it was a bib. He said I should wear it till the baby comes. He's practically right. Since I can't sit close to the table, I've made a couple of spills lately.
