Doctor Visit

Yesterday, Tuesday 9 October, Gerhard met me at KFC after Ladies Bible Study for lunch. All of our future doctor appointments will be on Tuesdays at 1pm, so eating lunch at KFC might become a monthly tradition over the next seven months. It's located on the same street as my doctor's office, so it's convenient and yummy. We hardly ever eat fast food, so if we get sick of KFC, we'll go to the cafeteria style restaurant in the near by mall.

All went well at the doctor visit. We were able to see the little heart beat, now at seven weeks. My Dr. said everything looks fantastic. So much so, he said we could cancel my appointment scheduled in two weeks to have the next one in four weeks instead. Just in case though we left the appointment for two weeks in his schedule & I'm to call a couple hours before the appointment to cancel if I'm having no issues. His nurse said that would be great since they always have extra patients & a cancellation is often a relief. We are very satisfied with my current doctor and his staff. The best I've had in Germany... and I've had several.

We got the Mutter's Pass, a little book to bring to every visit for the doctor or nurse to fill in the notes of that visit, as well as having stickers with lab results stuck inside. We also got a bag full of baby magazines, coupons and samples. The next visit, in four weeks when all goes well, we'll be able to hear the heart beat and probably confirm that there is either one baby or more than one.
We are doing fine. Gerhard is taking up extra duties at home while keeping up with his busy work schedule! He's helping with the laundry, some cleaning, as well as some grocery shopping. For sure he has to carry everything up the stairs as well. I've not had any "morning sickness" though I have had nauseous feelings, lower back spasms & hormonal headaches. I get tired very easy, so do a lot of resting. Sometimes I get so hungry, but have no appetite for anything. I've started having cravings, but not for anything weird, mostly things I can't get...like Arby's Big Montana Roast Beef sandwich! Oh my goodness, just thinking about that giant sandwich makes my mouth water. If there were an Arby's any where in Europe, I tell ya, we'd be driving there! Another craving, though I can make it homemade, is cinnamon oatmeal. I bought some oats yesterday, so next time that craving hits, I'm prepared.

Tyler comes over this afternoon to play. He's growing up fast & speaking both English and German. He says the funniest things some time. I took some photos of him a couple of weeks ago at church playing under a small tree he calls "the bush". I'll upload one or two in the next days.

Thank you all for the continued prayers for a safe & healthy, full term pregnancy!
